Install ProjectCam where it has a clear view of the site: As soon as the camera unit has power (and has been activated), it automatically connects to our systems. If you have a specific need for a Panorama camera, we still have a limited number available: get in touch for details.

INCLUDED IN MONTHLY RENT: Mobile data, image storage on our servers, customer service and support, plus uptime monitoring.
INCLUDED IN THE SETUP FEE: Camera configuration, mobile data subscription, registration in our systems, and one professionally edited timelapse video per project.
All prices excl. VAT. Minimum rental period 3 months. Max lead time 14 days (almost always significantly shorter). Substantially extending the storage interval increases the monthly price due to data traffic and storage.

Documenting construction sites since 2014
We currently operate well over 400 active camera units on projects all across Norway. We know the construction industry well and work with the largest contractors in Norway. Our product is under constant development. To give a good example, we just launched new customer pages in 2026.
Some may think ProjectCam is only about the camera we rent out: the camera unit is really just an IP camera, a cellular router, a LED light and a power supply in a junction box. It's the configuration, the back-end systems, the customer portal, our routines and the expertise in our company that let us run all these cameras and keep them online for years at a time. We're pretty proud of our "camera boxes" — but they're just one cog in the ProjectCam machine.
Our web application (customer website)
Here you'll find the live image and a calendar view of all stored project images. You can easily generate timelapse videos or download links for image archives from any date/time range you choose.
Our new customer portal (app.byggekamera.no) is a far more intuitive and modern user experience than its predecessor. We have worked hard to ensure the new platform meets a very high standard for IT security, reliability and last but not least: Usability.
Like the rest of ProjectCam, the customer portal is in continuous development based on customer feedback, and we're always working on something new and exciting.
Live image
ProjectCam updates the image every ten minutes by default during normal working hours (for privacy reasons).
When you rent ProjectCam you can embed the image on your own website, like the one shown above. Click to see Halden Havn right now! You can also easily share just the live image through a link — for example with partners or subcontractors who need more oversight.
Privacy & GDPR
We know the regulations well and can deliver a worry-free solution: ProjectCam is not classified as video surveillance, but there are still plenty of laws and rules to comply with.
A typical camera placement is fully legal by default (feel free to ask us about details), but we also offer extra features that further secure workplace privacy:
Freeze image
The live image can be frozen from our customer portal to protect those involved in e.g. workplace accidents.
Delay
The live image can be delayed to enhance worker privacy (which also gives you time to freeze it).
Masking
We can mask images with an "out of focus" effect. Details in e.g. a courtyard or window become unreadable without ruining the overall look.
Operations center
Every part of the system is monitored from our operations center, so customers can have a worry-free day-to-day and trust that ProjectCam works as it should around the clock. If an issue is detected, action is taken immediately.

Timelapse project video
For the standard version of our timelapse videos we can't customize the content to the customer's wishes — adding narrative text, logos or your own video clips and images, for example.
Custom work typically requires more dialogue and more than one revision. We've also developed editing techniques that can benefit the project video. You'll find more examples of this type of video in our gallery.
